Akia Nicole is a handcrafted resort wear fashion brand designed to help you feel beautiful. Founded by Akia Nicole herself, the brand’s mission is to create timeless and versatile pieces to help you travel and lounge in style. Our collections consist of effortless caftans and statement pieces carefully crafted in luxe feel-good fabrics, bold prints, and rich color palettes. Each piece is produced in small batches in Atlanta, GA to support the brand’s commitment to sustainability while offering limited edition pieces. Thoughtfully designed with elegance and comfort in mind, each piece is guaranteed to help you look and feel your best, no matter where your journey takes you.

THE DESIGNER

Akia is the founder and designer of Akia Nicole. Throughout her life she has had a great love for fashion and has used it as a way to express herself and boost self-confidence. She truly believes that when you look good you feel good and she started her design journey as a way to help women feel beautiful.

In the early stages of business, Akia started designing custom pieces for her family and friends. After designing a variety of pieces from evening wear to birthday dresses, Akia would soon find her love for resort wear.

When planning to go on a vacation to St.Lucia, she struggled to find pieces that she wanted to wear. Like any creative, she decided to create the pieces she wished existed. This journey led her to infuse her love of travel and fashion and create the lifestyle brand Akia Nicole with the desire to help women travel the world in style.

Aside from designing Akia, enjoys traveling, cooking, and making memories with her family.

THE PROCESS

Each piece is designed and made to order by me in my studio in Atlanta, GA. This process helps me to reduce overproduction and excess inventory. More importantly it allows me to offer custom sizing to make sure you feel beautiful in your piece.

The making process includes fabric sourcing, designing, making the patterns, cutting out the fabric, sewing & stitching, labeling, steaming the garment, packaging it up, and taking it to the post office. Most of my pieces take between 4-6 hours to make so there's a lot of love and detail that goes into designing each piece. This slow fashion process takes a lot of time and patience but it allows me to create a beautiful and quality garment made just for you.
